Summary and scope
Council is seeking a suitable consultant to undertake a feasibility study and write the business case for a transfer station upgrade to maximise resource recovery within the constraints of the site. The business case will be developed to futureproof the transfer station against future changes to the waste industry, drive circular economy outcomes, and to ensure that the centre continues to meet the community’s needs. The business case will identify operational and infrastructure improvements to the site to enable more of the current items to be recycled locally, and potential new materials such as glass, plastics, timber, commercial and construction waste to be separated and recycled. The transfer station upgrade business case must include all operational areas within the current footprint of the waste transfer station and any opportunities for land acquisition.
