Summary and scope
During 2019, Council adopted a community-led Master Plan for the development of the Clermont Saleyards and Showgrounds Precinct over the next 20 years. As part of Council’s overall Master Plan for the Clermont Showgrounds, the Rodeo Arena was identified as requiring upgrades. Not only to rectify issues with aging infrastructure but to also improve functionality and efficiency between the facility and saleyards. By undertaking necessary upgrades, Council anticipates the facility will attract an array of different events to the Clermont Showgrounds Precinct. Thus, Council seeks quotations from suitability qualified vendors to provide a draft design and quotation to pivot new arena 15 degrees; including addition of pens and ramp (approx. 83m from existing). The proposal will require full replacement of the rodeo arena including external fence, bucking chutes, roping box, loading races, holding pens plus installation of a loading dock. This will enable a modern facility with best practice inclusions for animal and participant safety and consideration for spectator amenities. To date, Council has drafted a concept design for the proposal to be utilised by the respondent to design a fit for purpose solution that is functional, operational and safe.
