Summary and scope

Sewer Pump Station (SPS) G1 on Elworthy St, Gympie is scheduled for upgrading with the construction of a new wet well and storage tanks to be installed in close proximity to the existing pump station, which will be demolished as part of this project. Council requires the design and construction of a new electrical switchboard and controls that will be required for the project. The contractor undertaking these works is expected develop a detailed design with an RPEQ Electrical Engineer and to work closely with Council and their chosen civil and mechanical contractor, who will be responsible for all civil and mechanical works on the project. The site is a major part of Councils sewage network and as such maintaining operation of the existing SPS G1 will form a critical part of the project. The contractor’s methodology for the works will need to suit the controls, electrical, mechanical and operational aspects for the project whilst maintaining a high level of safety and zero environmental impact to what is a visible and critical site in a light industrial area on the north side of Gympie.
