Summary and scope
Cloncurry Shire Council invites tenders from a suitably qualified contractor to construct a new Potable Water Supply Main and Raw Water Supply Mian as described in more detail in Part 5 – Scope of Works. Council sought options in 2018 to improve the quality of water for the Dajarra Community which was mitigated by the installation of a new water treatment plant in late 2019 - early 2020. Since its installation and given the remote location of the facility coupled with the intermittent power supply to Dajarra, it has been acknowledged that the water treatment plant has some difficulty to supply potable water consistently to the community. Cloncurry Shire Council is seeking to reduce capacity constraints and operational costs of the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) by installing a new potable water supply from the WTP independent of a new raw water supply from the localised bore field.
