Summary and scope
Southside Sewerage is a 10-year program to provide sewerage reticulation & plumbing connections to 620 properties in the Southside suburb. Many properties on Southside have on-site treatment plants or septic systems which are reaching end of life, do not meet modern standards and in the case of septic systems do not have a monitoring program. Due to densification and development of the suburb these systems are seen as a risk to the environment and public health. Stages 1-7 have been completed and Stage 8 is currently underway. Stage 9 & 10 of the Southside Sewerage Program involves the connection of an additional 122 existing and established properties into the existing sewerage network.
