TBSC/23/0013 Supply and Operation of an Aviation Fuel Facility at Ayr Aerodrome

Summary and scope

Burdekin Shire Council invites tenders from suitably qualified tenderers for the Supply and Operation of an Aviation Fuel Facility (minimum 5,000 litre capacity) at the Ayr Aerodrome. The purpose of this tender is for the supply and operation of a Fuel Facility to provide aviation fuel (AVGAS) to lessees and users of the Ayr Aerodrome. The Aerodrome has two (2) runways, (Bitumen sealed 1,462m x 30m and Grass 1,127m x 30m) which can handle small to medium aircraft. With the operation of an Aviation Fuel Facility, the Ayr Aerodrome is ideally located to attract recreational and smaller commercial users from the region and across the State. Council requires the installation of a self-contained, 24/7 accessible Fuel Facility to replace an existing facility that is scheduled for removal in September 2023. It is Council’s desire to limit or minimise the time period during which the Aerodrome is without a fuel facility.
