Summary and scope
Work Details: • Regime of prioritised testing of pavement repairs as able for up to 4 crews in a radius of 50 km of Talwood on the Barwon highway, Talwood Boonanga Road and Meandarra Talwood roads • Up to 1861 m2 across 14 separate patches Meandarra Talwood rd • Up to 36 separate patches and -6991 m2 Talwood Boonanga Road • Up to 201 separate patches and 22342 m2 Barwon highway between Toobeah and Talwood on the Barwon highway • The intent is to price as a day labour rate to be available and directed depending on the program with an additional fee for each test undertaken. • Must be Nata accredited. • Can supply a work program to analyse if requested. • Testing requirements as per contract below Supplementary requirements (Clauses 8.4.6 and 10) The following supplementary requirements shall apply. 4.1 Testing The testing regime for unbound pavement MRTS05 (including with additive) and MRTS10 is as per the following: • • For pavement repair patches less than 50m2, 1 test per pavement repair patch required for compaction and OMC. Other construction standard testing as per the respective Table A3 of MRTS05 and Table A3 of MRTS10 specifications respective. • • For pavement repair patches greater than 50m2. Construction standard testing as per the respective Table A3 of MRTS05 and Table A3 of MRTS10 specifications. 4.2 Unbound pavements with nominal 1% additives • • DOS testing is not achievable due to the incorporation of cementitious additives. To ensure dryback has been achieved, the contractor is to ensure that the moisture content at the time of testing = 70% of OMC. • • UCS testing of the material is also required. The department requires that UCS results shall be in the range of 0.8 to 1.2 MPA at 7 days. The contractor to adjust nominal additive % according if the results fall outside the specified range. UCS testing will be required prior to the works commencing. Testing will need to be repeated if any changes are proposed to the approved mix design or methodology. • • The cementitious additives are preferred to be added at mixing plant/pug mill, if mixing is proposed at stockpile pad (on site) a draft construction methodology is required to be submitted with the tender for the Administrator review. TMR confirms that the working times are as follows for unbound + 1% additive. Differences as follows: • • Plant mixed: use the Working Time that the approved mix design indicates. Some plant mixes use retarder to extend working times. Mixed on site (nominal 1% additive): 2 hours working time (default). Compaction and trimming of the stabilised layer shall be completed within the allowable working time of 2 hours. The allowable working time is measured from the commencement of the incorporation (i.e. mixing) of the additive agent into the material, to the completion of compaction and trimming of the layer (excluding static multi-tyre rolling). The mix design is to be issued to the Administrator for approval prior to the commencement of the works.
