IRCT-CLM3-0823-338 Clermont Waste Management Facility Reconfiguration & Weighbridge Installation

Summary and scope

Isaac Regional Council (IRC) are seeking a suitably qualified contractor for the design and construction of a weighbridge at the entrance to the Clermont Waste Management Facility, 38 Turrama Road, Clermont QLD 4721. Currently, the Waste Management Facility does not have a weighbridge and makes use of a “deeming table” to record the weight of the waste. Installing a weighbridge will ensure the facility is compliant with Section 57 (1)(c) of the Waste Reduction & Recycling Act 2011, and improve waste data recording and reporting at the facility with the added benefit of ensuring the community that they are charged the correct amount for their waste. The proposed weighbridge shall have a security CCTV installed on the premises which shall be connected to the power available on the premises. The works shall include the design and construction of a permanent weighbridge, earthworks, concrete works for the approaches and weighbridge foundation, operator’s office, traffic management system installation and integration, CCTV security system, construction of a new access road, installation of a new cattle grid, and all associated works. IRC requires that the new weighbridge be fully operational before 31 May 2024 and that the Waste Management Facility remain fully operational during the construction phase.
