TEN/2298 - Removal of Tiles and Resurfacing of Childers Pool

Summary and scope

Through this Invitation to Offer, Council seeks to engage a suitably experienced and qualified Principal Contractor (PC) to resurface all of the floor and wall surfaces in Chiders Pool (Isis War Memorial Pool). The objective of this project is to enhance the safety and visual aesthetics of the pool. The existing tiled gutters are to remain untouched, with a smooth transition between the existing tiles and new surfaces The surface finishes must meet current GSPO guidelines (Royal Lifesaving Guidelines for Safe Pool Operation) slip ratings, colours, and patterns for safe pool operation. Submissions for two surface finish types (epoxy and fibreglass) are requested, and costs for both options must be provided, with the option providing the best value and within the available budget to be chosen by Council: • Surface option 1 – Epoxy – Megapoxy H primer, 3 coats x Megapoxy MC – or equivalent • Surface option 2 – Fibreglass – 400gsm chopstrand glass with vinyl ester resin, fillercoat resin, 850gsm flowcoat – or equivalent Work is to be conducted under contract AS 2124-1992 General conditions of contract.
