Summary and scope
The Emerald Botanic Gardens are situated on the banks of the Nogoa River and were established in 1987. The gardens cover an area of 42 hectares and have approximately six kilometers of walking tracks throughout. Council have progressively been upgrading the walking paths throughout the gardens from the initial 1m wide path to a 2.5m wide path. Council have engaged a landscape architect to review the existing pathways and provide a concept plan for upgraded pathways from the entrance of the gardens through to the upgraded pathway at the southern end of the gardens along with a section of pathway on the eastern side of the gardens. This scope of work includes removal of existing bitumen, interlocking paver and concrete pathways, installation of drainage structures and a new pathway.
