ITT2448 - Landfill Operations

Summary and scope

Tenders are invited to operate, manage, and maintain Council’s landfill operations in Nambour and Caloundra, commencing 1 July 2026. Council has two active landfill sites in Nambour and Caloundra. Whilst a successful Respondent would be responsible for both sites, the bulk of the active landfilling will predominately occur at only one of the sites at a time. As Caloundra is reaching capacity, Council requires landfilling to occur at Caloundra until it reaches final profile, then for all future landfilling to occur at Nambour. The landfill operations services include but are not limited to: • Disposal of waste, filling landfill cells. • Environmental management of the sites. • Installation of intermediate capping. • Vegetation management. Landfilling under the Contract is to commence on 1 July 2026 for an initial period of eight (8) years, with Council having a right to extend for an additional 12 months (i.e. a total term of up to 9 nine years).
