Summary and scope

Approximately 70 of the 130 electrical distribution boards at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatics Centre (MSAC) in Albert Park are no longer compliant to current regulations. This creates a safety hazard and compliance concern. These outdated boards prevent any new circuits being installed, prevent existing circuits being changed, and do not integrate into the Building Management System (BMS). Distribution boards are potential points of failure and may impact severely with business continuity in an event of failure. Updating the non-compliant boards most importantly will address safety and compliance issues. Upgrades will also allow for the accommodation of new lighting circuits and integration with the building management system which will provide energy efficiency monitoring. There are also approximately 43 legacy lighting controllers which are either CBUS, DALI timer, relay or switch. These controllers limit management and automation of lights throughout the venue which leads to unnecessary usage. The project scope includes the migration of all legacy lighting controls to Dynalite. The State Sport Centres seek a suitably qualified supplier to deliver these works. The scope includes the design, planning, procurement and implementation of the in-scope boards and controllers.
