Summary and scope
The township of Clifton is located approximately 50km south of the City of Toowoomba, at the southern end of the Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) local government area. The Clifton Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) services the township of Clifton.Prior to the 2022 upgrade, the Clifton bore water supply was upgraded with a reverse osmosis (RO) water treatment plant (WTP). RO reject from the WTP is discharged to sewer in town at the main pump station and now comprises a significant load on the STP.
