Audit and Risk Committee Chairpeson

Summary and scope

Hinchinbrook Shire Council is seeking to appoint an Independent Chairperson for its Audit and Risk Committee (ARC) to provide independent oversight of Council’s financial reporting, governance, and risk management functions in accordance with the Local Government Act 2009 (Qld) and Local Government Regulation 2012 (Qld). The Chairperson will lead the Committee to ensure effective governance, transparency, and continuous improvement in Council’s internal control, audit, and compliance frameworks. This process will be conducted through VendorPanel in line with Council’s Procurement Policy and the principles of fairness, transparency, and sound contracting. The appointment will be under a Contract for Services for an initial term of three (3) years, with a possible extension of up to six (6) years, and remuneration set by the CEO on a per-meeting basis.
