Summary and scope
The Customer (being the Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety,) is seeking quotes for a service is to be located in Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire and deliver QCSS supports to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. A deep awareness of culturally safe services within the community is considered essential in developing the variety of supports required under the service delivery model. Capacity exists for brokerage or sub-contracting arrangements with other providers where appropriate. Recruitment, training and upskilling of local community members, where possible and appropriate, is highly favoured. Service hours are between 9:00am and 5:00pm, with scope to work outside this range if better suited to the community. The initial contract is for 2 years and 6 months, commencing 1 April 2026. The Queensland Community Support Scheme (QCSS) is part of the Queensland Government's ongoing commitment to enabling economic participation, supporting thriving communities, and reducing social isolation for Queenslanders. QCSS provides low-intensity supports to assist people to actively engage in their community. QCSS services are available to people who: • are under 65 years old (or under 50 years old for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people); and • not eligible for the National Disability Insurance Scheme. QCSS can assist to: • improve a person’s capacity to self-manage and live more independently in their home • reduce social isolation through opportunities to connect with others and participate in their local community • link service users with formal and informal supports and services in their community to best address their needs.
