Summary and scope

This procurement is for the transition of service delivery from current service types under the Child Protection (Placement Services) investment specification, to new targeted services under the Family Based Care (FBC) investment specification. New services included under the FBC investment specification have been designed to help the department: • Increase the number of children cared for by family members (kin);• Reduce the number of children in residential care (by providing sufficient family based carers who are appropriately supported to care for children and young people); and• Transition investment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Organisations (ATSICCO) and Indigenous Businesses.This activity is the launch of Phase 2: Realignment of providers to new service types, focusing on increasing carers. This phase will focus on implementing region-wide Foster Care Recruitment service/s (T213). Transition of contracts commenced from 1 July 2025 and is proposed to conclude in June 2028.
