Summary and scope

Stonnington Youth Services are looking for 2 visual mural/street artists to facilitate a group program alongside young people from across the City of Stonnington. The purpose of this program is to provide opportunities for young people to experience mentorship from a professional artist, build and develop visual art skills and connect to community and show case the talents of young people in the City of Stonnington. This program involves a series of workshops, co-designing a mural that generates awareness of a theme which will be identified by the group, and encouraging young people to connect to their community. Photos of the mural location are attached, and artists should not include the cost of materials in their response. Materials are supplied by City of Stonnington for this project. The approximate size of the mural location is 7 metres x 2.2 metres.Program Structure: This program will take place over 5 days in the April holidays. Wednesday 8th April: Workshop 1 (11am - 2pm) – Site visit, skill building & begin mural design Thursday 9th April: Workshop 2 (11am - 2pm) – Finalise mural design, skill buildingFriday 10th April: Workshop 3 (11am - 2pm)–Integrating Feedback & Practice paintingMonday 13th April: Workshop 4 (10am - 4pm) – Mural Mark UpTuesday 14th April: Workshop 5 (10am - 3pm) – Mural Completion
