Summary and scope
Charters Towers Regional Council is inviting tenders for the provision of general slashing and herbicide spraying services for the Charters Towers Region and services related to Council’s Road Maintenance Performance Contracts (RMPC) for a period of twelve months. The services to be provided will include slashing alongside the highways, hand mowing road furniture, brush cutting and chemical spraying around roadside signage, guideposts and furniture along with general slashing and herbicide spraying in the Charters Towers Regional Council area as directed by Council from time to time throughout the year. Establishing a Register of Preferred Suppliers for businesses able to provide these services assists Council in delivering its services to the community in an efficient and effective manner. As outlined in the Local Government Regulation, a Preferred Supplier arrangement can be established where goods and services are required frequently, in large volumes or where better value for money is obtained by accumulating the demand for the goods and services and where the goods and services described are well understood in the relevant industry.
