### π₯ Overview of Perinatal Mental Health Services Tender
Queensland Health, through its Strategy, Policy and Reform Division, has issued an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the establishment and operation of acute inpatient **Mother and Baby Unit (MBU)** mental health services. This initiative aims to expand the state's perinatal and infant mental health (PIMH) service system by adding four beds in the **Logan region** and four beds in the **Ipswich region**. These units will provide specialized care for mothers and their infants from the third trimester of pregnancy up to one year post-childbirth.
### π Key Requirements and Scope
Successful suppliers must demonstrate the expertise to manage acute inpatient care within a dedicated MBU. Key requirements include:
* **Infrastructure:** Ability to rapidly stand up or provide existing infrastructure in Logan or Ipswich.
* **Clinical Standards:** Adherence to Clinical Services Capability Framework (CSCF) Level 5 or 6 for PIMH services.
* **Regulatory Compliance:** Capability to be gazetted as an Authorised Mental Health Service (AMHS) under the Mental Health Act 2016.
* **Partnership:** Commitment to a statewide networked approach, partnering with Hospital and Health Services (HHSs) for seamless referral and triage.
### π― Desired Outcomes

Contracts will be offered for an initial three-year term with a two-year extension option. This tender is ideal for healthcare providers with strong backgrounds in **mental health services**, **nursing**, and **perinatal care**.
