Construction – Waddy Point Barracks Refit

### 🏗️ Project Overview The Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI), through the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Partnerships (QPWS&P), is seeking a suitably qualified contractor for the **Waddy Point Barracks Refit**. This construction project is located on **K’gari (Fraser Island)** within the Great Sandy National Park. The successful bidder will be appointed as the Principal Contractor to oversee and execute the refit works. ### 📋 Key Requirements & Scope Bidders must demonstrate expertise in building maintenance and construction services. Mandatory eligibility criteria include: * Valid **QBCC Licensing**, registration, and accreditation. * Provision of Certificates of Currency for all required insurance policies. * Compliance with the Queensland Government Building and Construction Training Policy and the Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) Act 2017. ### 📍 Location and Site Visit The work is situated in the **Wide Bay-Burnett** region. An **optional site visit** is scheduled for Thursday, 12 March 2026, at 11:30 am at the Waddy Point Ranger Base. Registration for the site visit is required by 10 March 2026. ### 🎯 Desired Outcomes The primary goal is the successful delivery of the barracks refit to support park operations.
