Summary and scope

The successful consultant will be required to undertake the following tasks.Task 1 – Project Inception• Attend an inception meeting with Council representatives• Confirm project methodology, timeline and deliverables• Establish communication protocols with the Project Control GroupTask 2 – Background Research and Issues Paper• Review relevant planning policies, strategies and technical information• Identify opportunities and constraints affecting township development• Prepare a research and discussion paper outlining key planning considerationsTask 3 – Consultation and Engagement Strategy• Develop a tailored Community Consultation and Engagement Strategy• Ensure engagement methods are appropriate for a small rural community• Prepare consultation materials in clear, accessible languageTask 4 – Community Consultation Program• Deliver a structured community engagement program using a range of engagement methods• Facilitate community participation, build community knowledge and understanding and gather feedback on planning considerations• Document consultation outcomesTask 5 – Position Paper• Analyse consultation outcomes and key findings• Prepare a Position Paper summarising community views, planning constraints and strategic options• Provide recommendations to Council regarding potential next steps, including progression to Stage 2 Structure Plan preparation
