The **Queensland Mental Health Commission (QMHC)** is seeking proposals from qualified research providers to conduct a 12-month study investigating system-level barriers for women on remand who use alcohol and other drugs (AOD). This project aims to identify opportunities for reform across the justice, health, housing, and social service sectors.
### 📋 Scope of Work
Successful bidders will be expected to deliver a robust, mixed-methods research project, including:
* **Quantitative Analysis:** Examining administrative datasets regarding remand rates, AOD indicators, and offence types.
* **Qualitative Research:** Conducting interviews with women on remand, correctional staff, and key stakeholders.
* **Stakeholder Engagement:** Collaborating with government agencies, peak bodies, and community providers.
* **Lived Experience Integration:** Embedding lived-living experiences (LLE) throughout the research lifecycle.
### 🏗️ Key Requirements
* **Research Locations:** Brisbane Women’s Correctional Centre, Southern Queensland Correctional Centre, and Townsville Correctional Centre.
* **Approvals:** Suppliers must secure all necessary ethics approvals (HREC) and Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) research clearance prior to fieldwork.
* **Budget:** Indicative budget of up to $150,000 (excl. GST).
* **Timeline:** Project must be completed by 30 June 2027.
