Summary and scope
Palm Island Aboriginal Shire Council invites Tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors for the construction of concrete pavement and stormwater upgrades on Manbarra Road on Great Palm Island. The proposed upgrades include construction of reinforced concrete pavements, footpaths and drains and rock and gabion lined stormwater drains. Tenderers should note that, as alternative access is available to both ends of Manbarra Road, temporary full width closure during construction is permissible, subject to acceptance of works programming.Tenderers are to note that all ready-mix concrete and quarry products including roadbase, earth fill, rock and gabions will be supplied to site by the Principal. The Principal will be responsible for all quality conformance aspects of the supplied materials. All other project resources are to be supplied by the Tenderer.Great Palm Island is located approximately 20km off the North Queensland coast between Townsville and Lucinda. Passenger access is via air or ferry, vehicle access via ferry and bulk materials deliveries are via barge from Townsville or Lucinda.
