🏝️ Tender Overview: Low Isles Caretaker Services The Department of Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI) is seeking experienced caretakers to manage the Low Isles, located off the coast of Port Douglas, Queensland. This unique opportunity requires two individuals to reside permanently on the island to support the Reef Joint Field Management Program (RJFMP). 📋 Scope of Work Successful candidates will be responsible for the ongoing protection and management of the natural and cultural heritage of the Low Isles. Key duties include: Site Presence: Maintaining a permanent on-island presence. Maintenance: General grounds keeping, vegetation management, and infrastructure repairs. Visitor Management: Providing education, advice, and ensuring visitor compliance with marine park regulations. Stakeholder Engagement: Maintaining effective communication with relevant authorities and stakeholders. 🛠️ Requirements & Qualifications Personnel: Must provide two people capable of living in a remote, off-grid marine environment. Experience: Proven background in property maintenance or caretaking. Certifications: Valid First Aid (HLTAID001) and Construction White Card (CPCCWHS1001). Compliance: Must hold Public Liability Insurance ($10M+), Workers Compensation/Income Protection, and be ABN/GST registered. 📅 Key Dates Submission Deadline: July 6, 2026, at 5:00 PM.
