Summary and scope
The successful Waste Management Services contractor will be required to deliver and maintain a cost-effective, efficient, and environmentally responsible waste management service across all Federation University Australia campuses.The scope of services includes, but is not limited to:• General waste collection• Paper and cardboard recycling• Co-mingled recycling• Confidential document destruction services• Sanitary and hygiene services• Trade Waste (grease traps and interceptor pits)• Construction Training Waste (wood, metal and brick)• Battery Recycling• E-wasteIn addition, the contractor will be required to:• Provide a dedicated area-specific Account Manager as the primary point of contact for the University• Facilitate and chair quarterly meetings between the Account Manager and University representatives• Deliver accurate and standardised reporting, including monthly and annual reports for each waste stream across each site.• Provide an environmental statement outlining processes for the disposal and recycling of all collected materials• Issue detailed invoices reflecting bin types, volumes, and collection frequencies at each service location• Undertake annual bin washing and deodorising services• Conduct biannual waste audits in collaboration with the University’s Sustainability representative across all campuses• Identify and implement initiatives to reduce landfill waste and optimise overall cost efficiency• Ensure all waste and recycling collections occur between 6:00 am and 10:00 am, unless otherwise agreed with the Site Facilities Manager• Provide the capability to supply additional bins or services within 24 hours to support ad hoc requirementsThe contractor must demonstrate flexibility, responsiveness, safety processes and a strong commitment to sustainability outcomes aligned with the University’s environmental objectives.This procurement will support the University’s operational requirements while promoting consistent service quality across all sites. There will be one contract awarded servicing all sites and campuses of the University.
