Summary and scope

The Town of Port Hedland is seeking a multidisciplinary design team to develop the Aquatic Centre and associated precinct through a traditional, linear design development process. The proposed Aquatic Centre comprises approximately 1,250m² of internal accommodation and 4,390m² of external aquatic and recreation facilities, supported by a minimum of 420 car parking bays. The facility includes front-of-house functions such as reception and administration, flexible meeting and training spaces, a café, crèche, communications and cleaning facilities, and a comprehensive changing village incorporating family, accessible and Changing Places amenities. Operational areas include a pool office with oversight of all water bodies, a first aid room with direct pool and ambulance access, substantial internal and external storage, and dedicated wet and dry plant rooms.
