Summary and scope

AFAC is seeking a suitably qualified supplier to support the design and implementation of the Australasian Fire Fatality and Injury Reporting and Monitoring System (AFFIRMS). AFFIRMS is a national evidence and research utilisation initiative aimed at improving the consistency, quality and accessibility of fire fatality and injury data across Australia and New Zealand. The successful supplier will work with AFAC member agencies to review existing data sources and methodologies, develop a sustainable reporting framework, support data governance arrangements, and establish processes that enable meaningful analysis and reporting. While technology may form part of the solution, this is primarily a research, data and evidence-based project rather than a standalone software development procurement. Services may be delivered remotely, with project commencement anticipated in late 2026.
