Summary and scope

The Milne Bay Aquatic Centre Electrification Project will replace existing gas-fired heating systems with high efficiency heat pumps, supported by an energy efficient system redesign and a rooftop solar PV system. The project will modernise thermal plant infrastructure, reduce reliance on fossil fuels, and optimise electricity use through load flexibility and smart controls. Upgrade/replacement of domestic hot water systems servicing showers, hand basins, kitchenettes and other areas also form part of this specification. Toowoomba Regional Council will invite submissions from suitably qualified contractors for the design, supply, installation, commissioning and handover of electrification upgrades, and decommissioning of existing gas boiler heating systems at Milne Bay Aquatic Centre. Note- Existing boiler systems will remain in place and operational in a redundancy capacity until new system has been operational for 12 months. De- commissioning and removal of the gas boilers will form part of this contract.
