In 2023 Walcha Council undertook investigation works including maintenance hole inspections andsmoke testing to identify sources of infiltration and inflow (I&I) within the Walcha sewer network.Walcha Council have identified priority manhole remediation locations and seeking to engage a qualified contractor to complete the works.The Works generally include:- Remediation of defective maintenance holes identified in the FITT inspection program;- Remediation of Council-owned defects identified through the smoke testing program;- Validation of asset condition and ownership;- Minor excavation, repair and reinstatement works associated with the above; and- Documentation and reporting to support Council’s asset management system.These works are to be completed prior to the end financial year 2026-2027.
