Summary and scope
Connecting Kin (T210) services are responsible for targeted family mapping and engagement leading to new family connection or family members making application to be assessed as kinship carers (engagement focused). Outsourced non-government Connecting Kin services may work in conjunction with current regional Child Safety Finding Kin teams.Equipping Kin (T211) services are responsible for supporting initial kinship carer assessments, including provisional approval assessments. Services will provide all necessary supports to have kinship carers approved so they can commence caring (assessment focused). Outsourced non-government Equipping Kin services may work in conjunction with current regional Child Safety Finding Kin teams.Supporting Kin (T212) services are responsible for supporting approved kinship carer households, including provisional approved carers, and will support all ongoing assessments and renewals. The service will focus supports for kinship care households to support care arrangements and ensure family remain caring for as long as required (retention focused).Supporting Foster Care (T214) services are responsible for supporting approved foster carer households, including provisional approved carers, and will support all ongoing assessments and renewals. The service will focus supports for foster carer households to support care arrangements and that foster carers remain engaged and caring for as long as possible (retention focused). The service will also be focused on responding to care arrangement requests via unify, managing up-to-date foster care agreements and supporting care arrangement matching with their pool of approved foster carers.
