Summary and scope
The Artist will be responsible for:• Consultation with Council’s Project Team and incorporating feedback as required.• Capturing and including Darug culture and knowledge in the artwork • The artist/s need to abide by Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP) Principles, as outlined in best practice Federal Government Creative Australia ICIP Protocols and which have been consolidated for delivering public art in Penrith LGA.• Developing artistic concepts for artworks at both sites.• Producing detailed artwork designs suitable for fabrication and installation.• Procuring & managing any engineering requirements and certifications as required for either the artwork and/or footings• Fabricating or overseeing fabrication of artwork.• Delivering and installation of completed artworks on site (installation method to be confirmed with Council).• Management of contractor(s) during site installation• Provision and responsibility of all site controls and WH&S during installation. Council will be speaking with Darug Elders (Traditional Knowledge Holders) to collate cultural resources that have their permissions, in accordance with ICIP principles, to be shared for the purposes of this project.
