Summary and scope
Black Duck Reserve in Kilmore is an established public open space featuring a combination of granitic sand and concrete pathways, two stormwater treatment retarding basins, mature trees, understory vegetation, and regularly maintained grassy areas. The reserve gently slopes towards the south and forms part of a broader green corridor adjacent to a linear park along a tributary of Kilmore Creek. The reserve is surrounded by existing as well as further planned residential development. While the area currently provides open space and a network of shared paths, it lacks the local park infrastructure typically expected in urban communities. This project forms Stage 2 of a playspace project delivered in 2025; and proposes to build on that project which delivered enhancements to Black Duck Reserve by introducing a range of local park amenities.
