⚡ Flexibility Enabled Heavy Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Demonstration The Energy Efficiency & Conservation Authority (EECA) is inviting proposals for demonstration projects focused on the reliable and cost-effective deployment of heavy vehicle charging infrastructure. This initiative aims to integrate demand flexibility technologies into the transport sector to support New Zealand's energy efficiency goals. 🎯 Project Scope & Requirements EECA is seeking applications from charge point operators and freight companies to install heavy vehicle charging infrastructure. Key requirements include: Technology Integration: Projects must incorporate smart charging, battery energy storage, and demand flexibility to minimize grid impacts. Facility Types: Eligible projects include on-road vehicle charging hubs at shared urban facilities (urban transport hubs or qualifying depots with sharing plans) or dedicated journey charging stations. Capacity: Projects must support a minimum of 1 MW charging capacity. 💰 Funding Details Applicants may apply for up to $5 million in total EECA co-funding.
