💧 Wastewater Investment Accelerator RFI The National Infrastructure Funding and Financing Ltd (NIFFCo) is seeking expressions of interest via a Request for Information (RFI) to support a national programme for the procurement, delivery, and operation of small-scale wastewater treatment plants across New Zealand. 📋 Project Overview Following the 'Local Water Done Well' initiative, which consolidated Water Service Organisations (WSOs), the government is launching a voluntary coordinated procurement scheme. This initiative aims to address the substantial investment required for upgrading or replacing wastewater infrastructure in small-to-medium communities. 🎯 Scope and Objectives Target Audience: Communities of fewer than 2,000 people (primarily those under 500). Core Requirements: Planning, procurement, deployment, and operations and maintenance (O&M) of modular wastewater treatment solutions. Future Potential: The programme may expand to include larger treatment plants and drinking water infrastructure. Key Goals: Ensure compliance with environmental performance standards, enhance cost efficiency, improve scalability, and accelerate delivery timelines. 🤝 Participation Interested parties do not need to be specialized treatment technology providers to respond. Consortia are encouraged to participate. This is a strategic opportunity for infrastructure firms, project managers, and technology providers to engage with a long-term national water infrastructure programme.
