🦆 Tender Overview: Pāteke Predator Control The Department of Conservation (DOC) is seeking a qualified contractor to provide essential predator control services in the Northland region. This project is critical for the survival of the Pāteke (brown teal), a rare endemic duck species, and the North Island Brown Kiwi. 📋 Scope of Work The successful bidder will be responsible for managing predator trapping operations across both Public Conservation Land (Mimiwhangata Coastal Park) and private land in the Teal Bay and Whananaki areas. Key responsibilities include: Trap Maintenance: Servicing 599 established traps on a weekly or fortnightly basis, depending on seasonal requirements. Bait Management: Supply and preparation of bait for all traps.
