Summary and scope
The New Zealand Government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT), is partnering with the Government of Tuvalu to strengthen the management of Tuvalu’s fisheries resources. As part of this, MFAT and the Tuvalu Fisheries Authority (TFA) are seeking a Tuvalu Fisheries Adviser (Offshore) to provide technical assistance and capacity development support to the TFA, helping to maximise sustainable benefits from Tuvalu’s rich marine resources. This part time role will be remote with extended in-country visits and contracted directly to MFAT. It is a senior technical advisory position working alongside the TFA Managing Director and supporting the delivery of the Tuvalu Fisheries Support Programme Phase 3 (TFSP3). This role is ideal for a seasoned technical adviser with a deep understanding of offshore fisheries management and a commitment to sustainable development.
