Project overview: Victoria's Loddon Mallee Region occupies more than a quarter of Victoria and includes the main towns of Bendigo, Castlemaine, Echuca, Gisborne, Kerang, Kyneton, Maryborough, Mildura, Swan Hill, Wedderburn and Wycheproof.Home to more than 350,000 people and projected growth of another 100,000 people by 2051 (Victoria in Future 2023 Population and Housing). This presents significant infrastructure needs including a steady pipeline of new hospitals and schools, community housing and energy infrastructure. The region has a growing economy in tourism, viticulture, equine, horticulture, crops, cattle, manufacturing and wool production.
