Project: Cressbrook Dam Safety Improvement Project Project owner: Total Range Certification Location: QLD Australia Work package status: Open Scope: Full Scope Work package description: Crushing and Screening Project overview: Cressbrook Dam is the Toowoomba Region's key source of drinking water, servicing over 180,000 residents. It was constructed in 1983 and is owned and operated by Toowoomba Regional Council. The dam is a 59 m high zoned earth fill dam with a 20.3 m uncontrolled (ungated) spillway.The project's scope of works includes:widening of the existing spillway to a width of approximately 35m:replacing the left-hand side training walldemolishing the existing right-hand side training wallconstructing a new right-hand side training wallconstructing a reinforced concrete spillway crest extensionconstructing a new chute slab over the existing chute slab sectioninstalling concrete lining of exposed rock to provide a hydraulicly smooth surfaceremoving the existing left-side chute wallconstructing a new left-side chute wallupgrading the spillway chute floor to modern standardsmodifying the flip bucketoff-site disposal of demolished concrete worksextending the dam filters to the full height of the embankment up to crest levelraising the dam crest earth embankmentdownstream berm modifications.DELIVERY SCHEDULEThe project is currently in the detailed design phase and permanent works are scheduled to commence on site around Q3-Q4 2024.
