Project: Aurukun Bauxite Project Project owner: GLENCORE BAUXITE RESOURCES PTY LIMITED Location: QLD Australia Work package status: Open Scope: Full Scope Work package description: ICN hereby invites Expression of Interest (EOI) from respective trade contractors and suppliers for the Aurukun Bauxite project. All EOI submissions should be made through the ICN Gateway. Project overview: The Aurukun Bauxite Project is a greenfield bauxite operation in the Aurukun region of Western Cape York, Far North Queensland. The bauxite will be mined using conventional truck and loader operation, and ore will be processed in an on-site beneficiation plant.Product ore will then be transported to a Coastal Loading Facility (CLF) from which it will then be transported by transhipment vessel to an offshore transhipment area and transferred to bulk carriers for export.The project is anticipated to produce approximately 8 million dry product tonnes of bauxite per year over a life of mine of more than 20 years.Proposed project components include:Truck dump station and run of mine storageOre beneficiation facilityCoastal Loading Facility (Land and Marine)Transhipment vesselWater supply dam and infrastructureFines (tailings) storage facilityPower generationInitial haul roads networkCommunications / Control systemMine infrastructure buildings, including operations and temporary workshops and general infrastructure including a telecommunications systemTemporary works required to support construction, including a construction camp, accommodation village, power, water and telecommunications; andInformation systems and technology equipment, heavy mine equipment, Product Haulage equipment and mine operations equipmentDELIVERY SCHEDULEThe Aurukun Bauxite Project Joint Venture is currently undertaking a program of technical, approvals and community work that will inform a final investment decision by the Joint Venture.Future procurement decisions are dependent on approval of the Joint Venture.Construction of associated mine infrastructure is anticipated to take 2-3 years from investment decision.
