Project: Central Queensland Transmission Projects Project owner: POWERLINK QUEENSLAND Location: QLD Australia Work package status: Closed Scope: Full Scope Work package description: Needs Assessment and Planning: Conduct an assessment of the workforces current driving skills and experience. Identify specific training requirements based on Program needs and terrain conditions. Develop a comprehensive training plan outlining objectives and training modules. Vendor Selection and Contracting: Research and identify reputable 4WD training providers with experience in transmission line programs. Solicit bids or proposals from selected vendors and evaluate them based on expertise, training content, and cost. Contract with the chosen vendor for the delivery of the training program. Customisation of Training Collaborate with the chosen training provider to tailor the training content to the unique requirements of the transmission line Program. Ensure the training covers essential skills for driving site light vehicles in various terrains encountered along the transmission line route. Logistics and Scheduling Coordinate with the training provider to establish suitable training dates and locations. Arrange transportation and accommodation for participants attending the training sessions. Training Delivery Conduct classroom sessions covering theoretical aspects of 4WD operation, safety protocols, environmental considerations, and legal regulations. Organise hands-on practical sessions where participants can apply learned skills in real-world driving scenarios. Training to; RIIVEH201E & RIIVEH305F Terrain-specific Training Include modules focused on driving techniques for specific terrains encountered on the transmission line route (e.g., mud, sand, rocky areas). - Guide managing challenging conditions such as steep slopes and river crossings. Navigation and Route Planning Train participants in map reading, GPS usage, and compass navigation relevant to the transmission line Programs route. Emergency Preparedness Deliver training on responding to emergencies, including vehicle Project overview: Powerlink is delivering a portfolio of electricity transmission projects across Central Queensland to ensure the security of energy supply and the stability of the grid.
