Springs Road, Mount Barker Construction (Stages 3 & 4) & Environmental Services Centre Access Road

Summary and scope

Mount Barker District Council (the “Council”) invites Tenders from appropriately qualified Contractors to undertake civil construction works (including kerbing, drainage, pavements etc) to complete stages 3, 4 of the reconstruction of Springs Road, Mount Barker and the access road to Council’s Environmental Services Centre, Wastewater Treatment Plant and St Frances De Salles school. The Works will comprise of three (3) Separable Portions, being as follows: Portion A: Springs Road (Stage 3) – the re-construction and widening of a 356m length of Springs Road from the limit of Stage 2 construction including its intersections with Burnbank Way and Reuben Pope Court. Portion B: Springs Road (Stage 4) – the re-construction and widening of a 627m length of Springs Road from the limit of Stage 3 construction to the approach to the existing roundabout at Bald Hills Road. Portion C: ESC Access Road - the reconstruction and widening of the existing intersection of Springs Road / ESC Access Road together with an upgrade to the existing ESC Access Road from Springs Road to the main entrance to the Environmental Services Centre which also services Council’s Wastewater Treatment Plant and St Frances De Sales School. Tenderers are made aware that the design and specifications for Portion C are not complete at time of issue of this RFT. However, it is Council’s intention to negotiate with the Preferred Tenderer(s) for Portions A & B to undertake Portion C when the design and specifications are complete. Tenderers note that Council will conduct a site briefing commencing at 9.30am on Monday 17 February 2020 in the Pavilion at the Environmental Services Centre, 100 Springs Road, Mount Barker (adjacent to Council's wastewater treatment plant).. The site briefing is not a mandatory requirement of this RFT.
