Summary and scope
Snowy Monaro Regional Council (Council) is planning to upgrade its Bombala sewerage infrastructure in conjunction with the augmentation of the Bombala Sewage Treatment Plant. The key objectives of this project are to: Reconfigure the gravity sewer currently discharging to the Bombala STP and redirect flows to the Timor St pump station (WWPS1), allowing all flows from the Bombala township to be discharged to the new Bombala STP inlet works via a single pressurised main. This also requires a new pump station (WWPS4) to service the properties in Lot 221-223 Maybe Street and the Bombala High School. Provide standby pumps and emergency storage that will prevent wet weather overflows at Timor St pump station and, Replace the existing syphon across Bombala River with a new pipeline within the Forbes Street Bridge service duct via a new sewage pump station (WWPS3) on the North side and DN200 PE rising main along the Bridge heading South, discharging to a new manhole over an existing DN300 VC gravity sewer in Therry Street.
