Heavy Plant Replacement - Job Lot

Summary and scope

The tender is the replacement of a number of heavy plant items as part of a singular job lot. The specific items of plant and the specifications for replacement are included within the attached RFT document, Bellingen Shire Councils fleet of heavy equipment is ageing and up for replacement. Replacement of the specified items of plant as a job lot is intended to enable the following: Development of a commercial relationship. Through application of a job lot package and the unification of fleet assets it is hoped that the awarded supplier be willing to work with Bellingen Shire Council to best meet the demands and expectations of our rate-payers. Such examples of this include: o Simplification of services/repairs through a singular point of contact o Unification of machinery to ensure redundancy in operational capability o Advice to Council regarding ongoing plant ownership and maintenance; for example a list of parts and consumables to keep on hand. Value for money Packaging as a job lot allows for an economy of scale when purchasing items of plant. Suppliers should consider providing a solution for as many of the listed items as possible; noting that unification of fleet assets is a key driver of this tender.
