Project: "Carmichael Mine - Mine Access Road Eastern Section" The Carmichael Coal Mine is located in the North Galilee Basin, Queensland, approximately 280km south of Townsville, 300km West of Mackay and 160km North West of Clermont. The Mine is connected to the Gregory Developmental Road via the existing Mine Access Road (Elgin Road/Moray Carmichael Road) The Mine Access Road sits within the Isaac Region and is to be upgraded to a bitumen sealed standard, inclusive of; Stormwater drainage culvert installation; Bulk earthworks formation, drains and road pavement construction including the winning and haulage of material from local borrows and pits; Bitumen sealing; Linemarking and road furniture The upgrade works generally follow the alignment of the existing gravel road with some sections of the road to undergo greenfield realignment. The scope of work does not include the construction or upgrading of existing or new bridges. The Eastern Section of the Mine Access Road spans a 63km length.
