DRFA Program - Betterment - Orient Road

Summary and scope

Hinchinbrook Shire Council is seeking tenders to undertake the construction of gravel road section on Orient Road using a cement treated base (CTB) and two coat Polymer Modified Binder (PMB) Rubber Seal over a 1.170 km length (CH7290 – 8460). The Contract will be a Construction only Contract for the Works in accordance with the Drawings and Specification contained within this tender document. The Detailed Design at the stage of tender is at 30% mark. A BOQ has been provided within this Tender to allow the contractor to give a suitable price for the construction works to be undertaken. Hinchinbrook Shire Council recognises that changes to the design will occur between the submission/award of the Tender and the completion of design. As a results variations from the contractor related to the changes in scope driven by any deisgn changes made between 30% to 100% design will be considered. The scope of work generally includes but is not limited to the following: • Public notification; • Provision for traffic management within and around the construction site; • Provision of erosion and sediment control measures; • Dial before you dig investiagtions and service location; • Site establishiment; • Site clearance; • General earthworks; • Pavement and earthworks; • Insitu stabilisation; • Drainage works; • Concrete works; • Sealing works; • Site cleaning; and • As constructed survey and documentation.
