DRFA Program - Betterment - Gangemis Road

Summary and scope

Hinchinbrook Shire Council (Council) invites tenders from suitably qualified contractor to undertake Betterment Works on Gangemis Road, located within the Hinchinbrook Shire. Council has been successful under the Queensland Reconstruction Authorities, Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) grant assistance for reconstruction and Betterment works following Tropical Cyclone Imogen and Associated Low Pressure System 2 – 12 January 2021. It should be noted that the approved road is within Council’s unsealed road network. Hinchinbrook Shire Council is seeking tenders to undertake the construction of gravel road section on Gangemis Road using a cement treated base (CTB) and two coat Polymer Modified Binder (PMB) Rubber Seal over a 470m length (CH4700 – 5170). The Contract will be a Construction only Contract for the Works in accordance with the Drawings and Specification contained within this tender document. The scope of work generally includes but is not limited to the following: • Public notification; • Provision for traffic management within and around the construction site; • Provision of erosion and sediment control measures; • Dial before you dig investiagtions and service location; • Site establishiment; • Site clearance; • General earthworks; • Pavement and earthworks; • Insitu stabilisation; • Drainage works; • Sealing works; • Site cleaning; and • As constructed survey and documentation.
