Summary and scope
Broken Hill City Council has received a request by a major Airport stakeholder for the relocation of the hydrant standpipe at Lot 22 in the Broken Hill Airport precinct as part of a certain approval condition to redevelop the stakeholder’s infrastructure(s) at the site. The location of the standpipe is too close to the new development structure(s) and the applicant has advised that a principal certifier engaged by the applicant has deemed the location of existing hydrant standpipe as non-compliant. This is due to the new works carried out at the premises. Being owned and operated by Broken Hill City Council, the Principal for all critical and legislative infrastructure at the Airport, this request is commission by Council to procure a suitably qualified and experienced supplier for the relocation of the fire hydrant. The supplier must be appropriately accredited to carry out works to the requirements of Australian standards and the Nation construction Code for works in the category of this request.
