Summary and scope

INTRODUCTION The Opportunity Bounded by the Great Barrier Reef to the east and sandstone wilderness in the west, Livingstone Shire is located within the Fitzroy Region of Central Queensland and covers 11,800 square kilometres on the Capricorn Coast. The major urban townships of Yeppoon and Emu Park are where the majority of the population reside. Our beautiful rural areas include Byfield, Cawarral, The Caves, Stanage, Marlborough, Glenlee and Glendale. Council services a population of 38,000 with our major industries including retail, tourism, education and training, health care and social assistance, construction and agriculture. The Gateway Business and Industry Park (the Gateway) is a six-stage master-planned industrial precinct developed and owned by Livingstone Shire Council (Council). Lots range in size from 2000 square metres through to 2.3 hectares, and are planned to be progressively delivered to market on a supply and demand basis. Currently stages 1 and 2A have been developed, and Council has successfully secured sales on all lots within those stages. The Gateway is located on the fringe of the Yeppoon town centre with access via Rockhampton-Yeppoon Road that links with the Bruce Highway. The Gateway provides flexibility in its product offering with the ability to tailor lots specifically to meet the individual requirements of both small and larger scale businesses operating at low or medium impact uses. A range of business are currently operating out of the park, including a plumbing contractor, bus depot, engineering, heavy machinery, waste removal services and storage facilities to list a few. In order to develop stages 2B and 3 of the Gateway, Council is seeking a suitably qualified contractor for its Civil Works Contract requirements. Objective Livingstone Shire Council is seeking responses to this Invitation to Tender (ITT) for Civil Works – The Gateway Stages 2B and 3 Tender No.2022.030 as per specification. The purpose of this ITT process is to assess the ability of Tenderers to complete the Works, in accordance with all relevant Australian Standards. Council’s requirements in relation to the Works are set out in Section 2 of this ITT (Technical Specification).
