Summary and scope
Isaac Regional Council requires a suitable Contractor to undertake design and construction of strengthening and widening of approximately 3.41 km of narrow sealed sections on the Dysart Clermont Rd. A preliminary design is provided and a preliminary pavement depth has been nominated. The Contractor will be required to finalise the design and bring their expertise to the table to optimise the design. The works will include earthworks, drainage upgrades, recycling of the existing pavement, pavement overlay, bituminous sealing, linemarking and signage. The works are in two sections, Section 1 being 1135 m in length starting at chainage 5590 and terminating at chainage 6725 and Section 2 being 2275 m in length starting at chainage 8200 and terminating at chainage Section 2 includes two (2) number floodways. The works have been split into lump sum price schedules and schedule of rates price schedules. Provision has been made for the adjustment of the lump sum due to variance in earthwork quantities from the preliminary design prepared by the Principal to the issued for construction design prepared by the Contractor. This project is funded under the 'Roads of Strategic Importance’ Program with an Australian Government contribution of $1.30 million and a Local Government Contribution of $0.33 million as part of the Townsville to Roma Corridor. The Principal may, at any time after Tenders have been received, take any steps which it considers to be prudent or necessary to assist in determining which Tender is most advantageous considering the available budget. This may mean requesting any one or more Tenderers to take account of a change in the Tender Documents (reduced scope) for example.
