Summary and scope
This Contract is to provide Council with the services involved in winning and crushing road base material within Council’s nominated gravel quarries. Council at its absolute discretion may appoint a panel of Contractors for these services. It is intended that a contractor that is appointed to crush gravel will also be appointed to win the gravel to be crushed. However, there may be circumstances where only a portion of the won material will require crushing. Council may not appoint a Contractor for crushing services that is not able to win the gravel by mechanical means. In some instances it may be necessary to utilise explosives to assist in the winning of gravel. The successful Contractor(s) will be suitably qualified or nominate a suitably qualified subcontractor to undertake this activity. Council makes no warranty to the level of trade a contractor may expect under the resulting contract. Quantities provided are guidance only and may not reflect future requirements.
